How the design of waiting areas may help reduce anxiety before a breast biopsy
As part of my Master's Degree in Neuroarchitecture, I am conducting research exploring how the physical environment of healthcare waiting areas may influence patients' emotional well-being before a breast biopsy.
Although medical research has made significant advances in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, far less attention has been given to how the design of waiting spaces may affect anxiety during one of the most emotionally vulnerable moments of the patient journey.
The purpose of this research is to identify evidence-based environmental strategies that can help create more compassionate, supportive, and human-centered healthcare environments.
